Boy or Girl? - let the Internet quizzes decide... again!

We've been playing with the doppler tonight, listening to little Lemoni Sidney kidney bean's heartbeat (yes, I know the nickname is getting longer and more ridiculous but she's the size of a Lemon and I LOVE Captain Corelli's Mandolin.)

ANYWAY, we counted a heartbeat of around 162 beats per minute, which I vaguely remembered being and 'old wives tale' sign of having a girl, (which matches my gut instinct, but we'll find out on 19th April.)

Then I remembered this post from when we were expecting Dylan: http://frombeantobump.blogspot.com/2009/07/boy-or-girl-let-internet-quizzes-decide.html?m=1 (sorry my phone won't let me post that as a proper link for some reason)

It would be rude not to redo the tests eh, especially as they were so accurate *cough*. Here goes...

Quiz 1 - About.com

You answered 4 items out of 10 Yes.
Your score is 40%. Congratulations! According to the Old Wives it's a girl!

So girl 1, boy 0 (same as with Dylan... a boy)

Quiz 2 - Childbirth.org

You have a 29% chance of having a boy.
And you have a 70% chance of having a girl. (once again that only adds up to 99%, so I'm assuming there's a 1% it's a cat, or a monkey...?)

And Here's Why...
You are carrying the extra weight out front, so it's a boy. (no it's because I'm BLOODY PREGNANT)
The hair on your legs is not growing any faster during your preganacy, so it's a girl.
Boys are carried low. You are going to have a boy.
Sleeping in a bed with your pillow to the south indicates that you will be having a girl. (no, it's the only way my bed fits in my bedroom)
Your feet are not colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a girl.
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl. (I won't eat it when I'm not pregnant)
Dad-to-be hasn't been gaining weight along with Mom-to-be, so it will be a girl. (or he's on a diet and in the middle of a school musical?)
The maternal grandmother has gray hair, so a boy will be born.
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so you are expecting a girl.
You are looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a boy, because girls steal their mother's looks.
Your chest development has been quite dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a girl.
Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is an odd number, it will be a girl.
Your urine is a dull yellow color, so you will have a girl.
You have a craving for salty or sour foods, which means that it is a boy.
Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.
You have been craving fruits, so it is a girl.
Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.

2 nil to the girls...

Quiz 3 - GoodToKnow.co.uk
5a's and 9b's means... *drumroll*...

It's a girl!
You answered mostly 'b's, which means you're more likely to be carrying a baby girl.

So all three say girl. You watch, he'll be a boy now!

Lemon

See, these posts are like buses - wait long enough and three come along at once!

(you can tell I'm in bed bored can't you? I haven't got the energy to get out of bed, so I'm going get post-tastic instead! Anyway...)

It looks like Sidney kidney bean is a lemon... the size of a lemon that is.

Here's what's occurin' (sorry was tragically desperate to have an entire sentence of apostrophes, as you were...):

"This week's big developments: your baby can squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck her thumb!

Thanks to brain impulses, your baby's facial muscles are getting a workout as her tiny features form one expression after another. Though you can't feel her tiny punches and kicks yet, your little one's hands and feet are more flexible and active. (er, whatever!)

Your baby's kidneys are producing urine, which she releases into the amniotic fluid around her. She'll continue to do this until birth. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week. That's a sign that it's doing its job right. And the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells.

In other news: your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, she measures nearly 9cm, about as long as a lemon (see, told you!) She weighs around 43g. Her body's growing faster than her head and she now has a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, your baby's arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion with the rest of her body. Her legs still have some catching up to do (he/she'll match Dylan then...)

All over your baby's body an ultra-fine, downy layer of hair, called lanugo, is starting to develop."

From the BabyCenter iPhone app

No wonder I'm so bloody tired....

Movement

Definitely getting movement today :-). I'd forgotten how utterly strange it is to have something moving in your belly, even if it's only small at the moment.

Bloody love it!!! :-)

(right, I'm off to bed. And when I say "off to bed" I'm lying, I've been in bed since 6pm. Exhaaaausted!)

Bump Watch - 14 weeks

Yes, I've been rubbish at posting recently, but I've been under the weather. I will try harder!!!
